I have also devised a half day's training for PE leads so that they can use this resource to deliver in-house training and on-going support to your staff.

A KS3 resource in currently in post-production & will hopefully be available soon!

Step by Step

...was commissioned by the BBC to support dance at KS1  & 2.

The programmes cover popular themes -

for KS1 - The Senses and Seeds

for KS2 - Myths and Legends, World War 2 and the Anglo-Saxons.

Each programme focuses on one of the key elements of teaching dance in primary schools - the creative and compositional skills, the performance element and development of physical skills, the analysis and appreciation of the work as well as the overarching concepts of creativity and co-operation.

The lessons are taught by non-specialist teachers in real time with continuous support along the way.

Resources

The resource comes with very extensive teachers notes - these include lesson plans covering many ideas for each topic area.
